Need for Novelty

According to me,
do you ever have those days when you absolutely can't find anything to wear? I go through periods lasting a week or two when I feel like my entire closet is full of nothing. It usually happens when a season is coming to an end and another is beginning. My head is full of all the new fall pieces coming out and all of my summer clothes look boring.
But, it's still summer. So I have to suck it up and make do with the clothes I have! Obviously my clothes aren't worthless and outdated, it just seems like it because I don't have any new fall stuff to keep me entertained. The sad part of all this is that I don't have the money to go out and buy fun fall stuff. I can afford maybe a piece or two, but that's about it. So hopefully I can style all of my clothes differently from last year so I don't feel like my closet is worthless.

Do you ever have days like that?

Indigo Hardware

According to me,
this belt, shorts, and the shirt? You've seen. I'm back to the trouble of not having a lot of options. But, looking into my closet, I realize that when it comes to fall, winter, and spring, I have a TON of options. But summer? Out of luck. I have two pairs of shorts that I like. I have probably three skirts that work well for daily wear. I have a lot of tank tops and t-shirts, but they aren't fun to wear all the time.
So, moral of the story, I end up wearing a skirt and a normal top most days. I play it up with different shoes and accessories, but I want more options!
I'm demanding, I know. Drama.

Vintage Cheetah

According to me,
this dress is great to wear on a hot day. Plus, I love these shoes! Cheetah is so fun.
So I've been budgeting my money really well. I've been saving to buy a bag from Fossil, but I really miss shopping! So today, I had a weak moment and went to Target. But, thank goodness I did! I bought a black blazer and some killer wedges; both were on sale! I'll try to post pictures of them soon.

Oh, and my grandma gave me a bunch of vintage earrings the other day. So awesome! There's a picture of all of them at the end!

Nautical Nonsense

According to me,
that describes my day with this outfit. Lots of nautical nonsense (although, the only thing that made it nautical was this shirt). Today was supposed to be my relaxing day of the week, but it ended up being so busy! Typical Wednesday; oh Hump Day. So good but so bad.
Today started with me skipping my run (I know I know, it's shameful) due to the hot and humid weather. It wasn't too sunny, but I felt like I could grab the air it was so humid out! So after a lazy morning, I ended up going to the new Salvation Army with my good friend. I have been looking for a vanity/desk for my new apartment house. Lo and behold I found one!
It's got this great antique feel to it, and I got it for only $40. It probably wasn't worth that much, but I loved it too much to care. It's currently off white with some gold trim; I'm going to repaint it a fresh and nice white.
After that success, I lazed around with my friend and we chatted for a while. I then met my boyfriend for dinner (as we do every Wednesday).
So for all that busyness, I wanted to wear something loose, comfortable, and cool. Anything form-fitting would have killed me in this humidity.
So I chose this. It's pretty much just a variation on my normal summer outfit. Shorts, fun top, watch, and some statement jewelry. Nothing special but very comfortable.
The hair was a mess, but what can ya do?

P.S. You'll notice a variation in hairstyles and accessories. That's because I was lazy and didn't take all of my photos at the same time. The bun = end of the day haha.

Buttoned Up

According to me,
it's been so nice out lately. I love working, but it's sad that I have to stay inside a mall when it's so gorgeous out. I hope it's as nice by you!

Geometric Monochromatic

According to me,
this is the skirt I got at the art fair on Thursday. I love the pattern and I've been looking for a skirt with buttons all down the front. I had a long but fun weekend, I hope your weekend was fun! I'll be posting some of my new purchases soon.

Ann Arbor Art Fair

According to me,
the day I went, Thursday, was excruciatingly hot. My mom and I knew it was going to be the hottest day, so we chose to go then because there would be less crowds. We were right; there were not many people there. Plus, we didn't die in the heat (obviously, or I wouldn't be typing this). We packed two frozen water bottles plus a regular one each, brought a water squirt bottle, and I bought myself a big floppy sun hat to keep the sun off of my face and shoulders.
I love going to the art fair just to see all the different kinds of items sold. There's such a plethora of fun little knick knacks and art pieces. I bought two wooden tulips and a skirt. My mom bought kitchen decorations and a mix for wine slushies (sounds weird, but actually pretty cool).
I haven't taken pictures of my buys yet, but hopefully within the next couple days I will. For now, I leave you with a few snapshots of the art fair and a picture of my outfit. This was only a small (very small) section of the fair. It runs along 5 or 6 different streets and is quite the shindig.
It was really fun and I can't wait to go again next year, especially considering that it'll be right outside my front door! Let's just hope it isn't as hot.

Vintage Re-Issue Must Have.

According to me,
working at Fossil might have been the worst choice of job for me. I love working there, but I want to buy everything! Half my paychecks go down the drain because I'm surrounded by gorgeous watches and bags all day. Trust me, resisting is excruciating.
But, this is one collection I refuse to resist. All of the sales associates are in love with it. It's the new Vintage Re-Issue collection. Trust me, once you go into a Fossil store and hold one of these bags, there's no way you won't buy one. I'm going to save up for the largest one (the Weekender) because it'll work well for school. But I also love the messenger bag (the Flap with Lock). Well, to be honest, I love it all.
So what do you think of these? Are they not divine?

P.S. I'll be spending all day at the Ann Arbor art fair! I'll try to take a lot of pictures to document the experience. I try to go every year, it's so fun! Just hope I don't suffer to much in the heat!

To reuse or not to reuse; that is the question.

According to me,
I'm the queen of repeating pieces. I'm pretty sure you've all seen everything in this outfit except the clutch and earrings. But, when on a budget, do we really have an option?
For me, reusing is OK. I try not to repeat outfits, but I recombine the same pieces in many ways. I'm a college student with not a lot of money to spend, so I really have no other choice. When I shop for new pieces, I go for things that will work with a lot of stuff I already have. I'll buy a statement piece every once in a while, such as my nautical maxi skirt, but sometimes it's more cost effective to purchase something that will match many other things.
Is it bad that I reuse pieces very often or should I buy more to add to the mix. I'd love an honest opinion on this! Or, if you have any tips and tricks on mixing and reinventing pieces, I'd love for you to share.

(Also, I'm going to consider this a bust or must post. Bust or Must: Reusing.)
