Social Media Storm

According to me,
social media begins to overwhelm me at times. I know I'm not the only one. Who has time to create an extensive bookmarking system on their browser to keep track of all the sites they love and remember how to find their way through their own system?? Certainly not me. I tried the bookmark system and failed miserably. I even tried devoting one browser entirely to my blog and all sites related, but the browser was way too slow to deal with (and I thought Firefox was supposed to be awesome...).
So, back on Chrome, I've been searching for a great way to organize all of my sites that I like to visit on a daily basis. I always knew that Chrome had the app store, but I'd never really explored it. Being bored today (and avoiding much needed studying), I decided to take a peak and came upon a few gadgets that really help me to keep organized.

First, Evernote. Some of you may use this already, and if you don't, start. You can sink your browser, desktop, and smart phone all at once. It's pretty handy seeing as I'm always jumping in between my phone and my laptop. You can take pictures, add notes, to do lists, inspirations, basically anything you want. You can also add labels and organize your "notes" into their own notebooks. I really like it because I tend to take pictures of stuff I like, but they end up getting forgotten on my phone. Now I can pop them into Evernote and it reminds me when I get back onto my laptop.

Second, persona/. This is pretty cool because it takes all of your social medias and RSS feeds and puts them into one organized newsfeed. I like this because I'll never forget to visit a site. I can just jump on this and it's all right in front of me. The only downside is that I spend way too much time leafing through all the new posts and pictures. You can even clip stuff straight from this into Evernote.

I'm trying to add a little organization in my life cause I always feel so spread out. Hopefully this can help me to get my head in the game and blog more. I've been neglecting this way too much. And I'm so behind on my magazines! That's never a good thing. So if you guys are feeling flustered with all the social media and blogs out there, I suggest those two devices to keep yourself organized and insane! And if you don't feel overwhelmed from all the stuff out there, give me some tips cause you must be awesomely organized!

And there's a nice picture to help ya relax haha. I didn't take it, but I love the bokeh effect in it!

Dark Lips and Mustard Sweaters

According to me,
I love the color of this sweater. It definitely calls for a deep colored lip. I used A Different Grape from Clinique.  This sweater was among my Christmas gifts. I also got Sperry snow boots, a crock pot and cook book, and a new camera! It's a Rebel T3i and I am IN LOVE with it. My old camera was 8 megapixels, and this one has a whopping 18 megapixels. I absolutely adore it.

Wash It Out

According to me,
this photo shoot originally involved only myself and one friend. But, word got out.
So, it ended up being me, three girls, and a guy. Zack has already appeared on here, and so has my sister. But the other two are new.
It was a lot of fun; I styled them and took the photos. My sister did the makeup. I did the hair too! I was proud of myself haha. I was definitely feeling the washed out look. Less color is more in my mind. There are more posted on my facebook page, but these are a few I really like.

Oh, and yes. Some of the stuff there wearing are my clothes haha. Gotta reuse!

Tribal Bronze

According to me,
I'm happy to be back home! All the posts from last week were scheduled; I was up north camping and didn't have access to a computer. So I'm finally back and ready to blog!
Here's an outfit from yesterday. I love this tribal top, I bought it probably two years ago and still wear it. I paired it with this high waisted skirt and of course my favorite green heels! And yes! I can stabilize myself in heels again! But, I still can't wear them outside, which is pretty sad. But I'm satisfied with just being able to take photos in heels again!

Skirt: Forever 21
Heels: ELLE for Khol's

Here's a few pictures from up north. We had a fun 4th of July and hit the beach a lot!

New Photo Studio

According to me,
or so I wish. I now have a good space as a semi-photo studio. My sister has been moved out for a while and her room has plain walls, so they make a good backdrop. I mind as well take advantage of it! She actually just started a makeup blog called Pigment Your Life. I took her header picture for her; here are my favorites that I took. Visit her blog to see which one she picked!
Oh, and here's a silly picture of me. I'm working on using the self timer with my lights; focusing is hard!

Stay goofy.

Makeup Inspiration

According to me,
I love doing makeup, but I've never been one to go crazy. But, I picked up the magazine for Makeup Store this weekend and fell in love with it. I would love to be able to do makeup like that! Here are pictures I took of my favorite spread. I really love the picture with the wide-brimmed hat. The photography for this whole spread is great.
This spread served as my inspiration for makeup today. Not exact, but I think it's pretty fun. Definitely something new!

Stay inspired.

Camera

According to me,
it must have been fate when I decided to wear this necklace today. I found out that I was hired as the official photographer for the Honors Program at my college for next year! I'm so excited! I'm a real photographer now :)
Here's the outfit I wore, pretty basic. Gotta love the camera necklace.
Update on the ankle: it's doing much better, only a little sore. I have to wear the brace full time for only one more month! And, a shout out to my boyfriend who starts his internship tomorrow; good luck!
Hope you're all having a great day :)

Impromptu Photo Shoot

According to me,
my friend Allison Kay and I had an impromptu photo shoot on Thursday that turned out terrificly. She was already wearing a great shirt and some cool earrings, so we just went with it. I had her put on some makeup and we went out into a small park in our neighborhood while the sun was getting low. Her hair was originally up in this gorgeous messy bun, but once I got some good shots of it, I had her take it out and bring all her hair to one side. How amazing does it look? How I wish I could do that with my hair!
I really love how these turned out, I've put more up on my facebook page so definitely go check them out there too. I have some other shoots with her up on there also. Let me know what you think of these, I love them!

Also, Allison Kay very recently started a blog! Go check it out here.

Stay spontaneous.

First Real Photography Job

According to me,
all the "photography jobs" I've had in the past haven't been official. Tonight and tomorrow morning are the first jobs I have where I'm getting paid to do what I love. Needless to say, I'm very nervous. I've been stressing all day. Please wish me look and send me good-photo-mojo! I'm covering an awards ceremony and a graduation.
This is what I've chosen to wear; my version of business casual. I didn't get a full length picture (yet). But hopefully I can post a full length shot tomorrow. My makeup is pretty basic, but I think it's appropriate.
Wish me lots of luck! You can see my past work here.

And don't forget to enter the giveaway!!

Stay confident (at least that's what I keep telling myself).
