Social Media Storm

According to me,
social media begins to overwhelm me at times. I know I'm not the only one. Who has time to create an extensive bookmarking system on their browser to keep track of all the sites they love and remember how to find their way through their own system?? Certainly not me. I tried the bookmark system and failed miserably. I even tried devoting one browser entirely to my blog and all sites related, but the browser was way too slow to deal with (and I thought Firefox was supposed to be awesome...).
So, back on Chrome, I've been searching for a great way to organize all of my sites that I like to visit on a daily basis. I always knew that Chrome had the app store, but I'd never really explored it. Being bored today (and avoiding much needed studying), I decided to take a peak and came upon a few gadgets that really help me to keep organized.

First, Evernote. Some of you may use this already, and if you don't, start. You can sink your browser, desktop, and smart phone all at once. It's pretty handy seeing as I'm always jumping in between my phone and my laptop. You can take pictures, add notes, to do lists, inspirations, basically anything you want. You can also add labels and organize your "notes" into their own notebooks. I really like it because I tend to take pictures of stuff I like, but they end up getting forgotten on my phone. Now I can pop them into Evernote and it reminds me when I get back onto my laptop.

Second, persona/. This is pretty cool because it takes all of your social medias and RSS feeds and puts them into one organized newsfeed. I like this because I'll never forget to visit a site. I can just jump on this and it's all right in front of me. The only downside is that I spend way too much time leafing through all the new posts and pictures. You can even clip stuff straight from this into Evernote.

I'm trying to add a little organization in my life cause I always feel so spread out. Hopefully this can help me to get my head in the game and blog more. I've been neglecting this way too much. And I'm so behind on my magazines! That's never a good thing. So if you guys are feeling flustered with all the social media and blogs out there, I suggest those two devices to keep yourself organized and insane! And if you don't feel overwhelmed from all the stuff out there, give me some tips cause you must be awesomely organized!

And there's a nice picture to help ya relax haha. I didn't take it, but I love the bokeh effect in it!

Pick Me up

According to me,
what's better than a little blog-browsing to ease the tension of studying for exams? In my opinion, not much. It's a great way to take a short break and get the brain goin'. Here's what's catching my eye right now.

These are from some of the blogs we all know and love. I can never get enough. But, the most inspiring lately has definitely been atlantic-pacific.blogspot.com. I love how she styles all of her outfits.

To all of you college fashionistas out there, good luck on final exams. Hopefully yours will be over soon too!

HANA Titanium Flat Iron (yes, this means I have straight hair)

According to me,
having straight hair is WEIRD. I haven't straightened my hair in about two years. But, I was asked by Misikko.com to review one of the flat irons they carry on their site. I was more than happy to do so because if it can straighten my hair, it can straighten ANYTHING.

So, here is the unveiling of my alter ego. Straight-haired Mary.

So, in summation, this straightener is AMAZING. Excuse the excessive use of capitalization, but this straightener is deserving. It works incredibly well. When I straightened my hair before (the few times I actually took time to), it took me three hours from start to finish. Yes. Three.
Needless to say, this straightener is heaven-sent. It takes me only a half hour to straighten all of my hair. Yes. A half hour. I can hardly believe it myself.

Going from that, to this, is possible!
This straightener has done wonders for me. It's so easy to switch between curly and straight hair. Now, more about the straightener. It's made of titanium so my hair never snags, which is awesome. Curly hair with flyaways is awful. The straightener is a HANA titanium. You can see their other products here. But really, get the one that I have. It's less expensive than a ceramic and works just as well. Misikko sent me the straightener along with some other goodies. I got a few different cases for the straightener, some ELF makeup, and other fun little beauty products. I really suggest ordering your next straightener from Misikko. Their prodcuts are amazing.

All in all, this thing is awesome. Get one. Use one. Love one. I'm so happy I did.

The Oscars 2012

According to me,
obviously we've all been obsessing over the dresses from the Oscars since the moment it started. But of course I've got to say what I loved the most. I thought everyone looked great; there weren't any awful looks this year. But, there were really some stunning dresses. My personal favorites include Angelina Jolie in Versace (I think my favorite part was the killer smile and overdose of leg), Emma Stone in Giambattista Vitalli and Louis Vuitton (that color red was fantastic with her skin), Kristen Wiig in J. Mendel and Neil Lane (she just look stunning. Perfect dress for her.), and Shailene Woodley in Valentino and Harry Winston (did not expect her to look so chic!). But, I think my favorite look has to be Gwenyth Paltrow in Tom Ford. Gwenyth is definitely one of my style icons. She always looks chic, streamline, and glamorous. I was so excited to see that she was the cover of Harper's Bazaar Spring Fashion issue. I look forward to seeing her article and photos based on the cover; it should be fantastic.

So here's all the photos of my favorite looks. Let me know what you guys think and what your favorite look was!
Also, I know I haven't blogged in FOREVER, but I promise to be better. School has been crazy, so I haven't had a lot of time. But, get excited to read my review of a Hana flat iron sent to me by Misikko! It'll be the first time I've had straight hair on the blog!

Photo Shooting

According to me,
it's been way too long since I've done a photo shoot! I really love to do fashion shoots. It lets me be creative and have fun with it. I really want to start doing a variety of different models because currently, I only use my friends.
Do you guys have any tips on how to collaborate with other models? Or, if you're in Michigan at all, would you want to be a model? Any suggestions help!
Here's a shoot I did with someone you've all seen before. She's appeared on this blog more than once before. She died her hair a nice red color, so at least it's a bit different than usual!

Let me know what you guys think! I styled, edited, and took the photographs.
